Astronema, Princess of Darkness and later Queen of Evil, was the most complicated villian on Power Rangers. She was born on the space colony of KO-35 and at a young age, was captured by Darkonda. She was raised by Ecliptor and learned the ways of evil. During the time, she proved herself to be a capable fighter (she fought the Rangers on a few occasions in hand to hand combat and with her staff and boomerang), a sorceress (using her purple magic with her hands or her diamond shaped Wrath Staff) and an intelligent tactician (she did use the Teenage Muntant Ninja Turtles and take over the Megaship while capturing four Rangers in one of the first few episodes and she snuck on the Megaship posing as Ashley, the Yellow Space Ranger, captured three Rangers and she even managed to morph). She and Zhane, the Silver Ranger went out on a date, but he was late because of a monster attack and she told him she never wanted to see him again (she did still have feelings for him). She always believed her family was dead and had been killed by the Power Rangers, until she found out that Andros was her long lost brother. Then she struggled with whether she wanted to give up everything she'd ever known and be good or stay Dark Spectre's second in command. Her love for her brother won out, however and she joined the Rangers on the Megaship and became Karone. She was captured while going to the Dark Fortress to stop an asteroid from hitting Earth and was reprogrammed with circuitry for evil. During this time, she made the Psycho Rangers which were made from Dark Specre's powers. She used them in various battles to drain the Grand Monarch of Evil of his life. But the Psychos were made into data cards after being destroyed once already. Darkonda used one of Astronema's weapons (that would wipe out an entire planet in one shot) to annihilate Dark Spectre. The Monarch of Evil destroyed Darkonda in the process. She (along with the Alliance of Evil) almost conquered all of the known universe and her battle plans were used to do it. While she tried to blast her brother dead, Andros blocked the final blow off with his Spiral Saber. But the blast hit Astronema instead, killing her. Andros killed Zordon in order for all the evil in this galaxy to perish. Then Andros carried her outside of the Dark Fortress and as he was crying, his tears brought Karone back to life. |
